Agreement “reduces risk of new incidents”

Serbian government Media Office chief Milivoje Mihajlovic said Saturday that the agreement with KFOR reduced the risk of incidents. He said that the agreement would prevent setting up institutions of “so-called independent Kosovo” in the north of the province. He added that the agreement would also prevent violent attempts to establish Pristina’s institutions in the northern part of the province. The Serbian government and KFOR representatives reached the agreement on control over administrative crossings in northern Kosovo on Friday night. According to announcements, four northern Kosovo municipalities should today say whether they accept the agreement or not. The Serbian government representatives called on the Serbs yesterday to remove barricades and respect the agreement with KFOR, but citizens refused to unblock the road near the village of Rudare.
