The opposition Serb Radical Party (SRS) on Monday stated that a partition of Kosovo is unacceptable. The party asked the government to make a statement on whether Serbia planned to resolve the Kosovo issue via a partition of the country's southern province, something that is reportedly included in the "Autonomy from 1 to 100" plan. Radicals: Partition of Kosovo unacceptable Belgrade's Press tabloid today cited unnamed sources who said that Belgrade would offer ethnic Albanians to choose their level of autonomy from "1 to 100", where 100 is independence, but that they would have to accept the same for the northern, Serb parts of the province. SRS is asking the authorities in Serbia to inform the public about whether these media reports were true. The Radicals warned the authorities that a partition of Kosovo and Metohija was unacceptable, that the state must not be an object of trade and that it has an obligation to respect the Constitution and the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty, the statement read. "The Serbian parliament backed the government's policy to preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity and its orientation that it will never, either explicitly or implicitly, recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo and Metohija. It did not authorize a fragmentation of the territory," the SRS statement concluded.
