President Boris Tadic sent a telegram of condolences to his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev after a deadly explosion in the Raspadskaya mine. According to the latest information, 30 people died in the explosion and 60 are still trapped inside the pit. Tadic sends condolences after mine disaster “Please accept the deepest condolences in the name of the entire Serbian people and in my name. We most sincerely sympathize with the families of the victims and the Russian people,” Tadic wrote, his cabinet announced today in Belgrade. Rescuers have so far managed to reach some parts of the mine in which two blasts occurred yesterday. The second explosion occurred while search and rescue teams were inside the pit, so the rescuers were also among the victims.
