Talks on possible cooperation have begun between the leaders of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS). According to daily Vecernje Novosti, SNS and DSS leaders Tomislav Nikolic and Vojislav Kostunica talked via telephone on Monday and agreed to reach a consensus on goals for working together in the future, in the event of early parliamentary elections or a referendum on Serbian NATO membership. Nikolic, Kostunica hold talks The daily states that DSS officials will be meeting with Serb Radical Party (SRS) officials as well. This week’s contact between Nikolic and Kostunica was the first such since Nikolic quit the SRS to form his own party late last year. Nikolic confirmed at last night’s SNS rally in Zemun that both parties had accepted the call to discuss technical cooperation.

The daily states that DSS officials will be meeting with Serb Radical Party (SRS) officials as well.This week’s contact between Nikolić and Koštunica was the first such since Nikolić quit the SRS to form his own party late last year.
