An agreement on strategic cooperation between the Serbian government and Europol was signed in Belgrade. Deputy PM and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic and the European Police Office (Europol) Director Max Peter Ratzel on Thursday inked the deal. Serbia in strategic cooperation with Europol After the signing, Dacic said that it was "a big step towards the European Union", because the agreement was an important basis for the promotion of cooperation with all of its member states, which are, at the same time, members of Europol. Dacic said that the strategically important agreement was a framework for strengthening of cooperation with Europol the fight against terrorism, human trafficking and other cross-border crime, and that it enables an exchange of experience "in different directions". After this, another deal, on operational cooperation between Serbia and Europol is also slated to be signed, according to the minister. He underscored that establishment of cooperation was one of the important conditions for Serbia's inclusion to the so-called White Schengen List.
