Radicals unveil draft Kosovo resolution

The document, if passed, would also require the notification of every UN member that a recognition of Kosovo as an independent state will damage relations with Serbia.

The Radical party wants the resolution adopted at an emergency session since "it is obvious that Kosovo and Metohija will be recognized as independent by a number of countries, primarily the U.S., and international organizations, especially the EU, which could have unforeseeable, negative repercussions if the country is unprepared."

In addition, the party calls on Parliament to bar the Serbian state and all of its institutions from ever consenting to an independent Kosovo, no matter the cost, while also requiring authorities to do everything in their power to prevent the secession of Kosovo.

The draft resolution would also require Serbia to demand that the UN ensure the proper implementation of Security Council Resolution 1244.

The initiative needs to be signed by 84 MPs for it to be added to the agenda.
