Dual citizenship accord still stands
The legal conflict occurred last month when Minister Alkalaj issued a memo to Minister Drašković in which he disputed the legality of the Agreement on dual citizenship, which was made between the then Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SRJ) and Bosnia in 2002, since the state union of Serbia and Montenegro (SCG) had broken up in the meantime, SCG being the legal successor of the FRY.MIP stressed in the announcement that Serbia, being the successor of the state union of SCG, took over all international contracts, including the Agreement on dual citizenship with Bosnia.
