BELGRADE Owner of several Borovica system companies Dusan Borovica was arrested on Wednesday, B92 has learned. Borovica, who also owns Vojvodinaput road construction and maintenance company, was previously arrested on corruption charges last October. Police arrest company owner on corruption charges The public’s attention turned to Borovica when employees of his Dunav Grupa Agregati recently blocked the Danube River for several days, demanding overdue wages. Dunav Grupa Agregati is not the only Borovica’s company that has been struggling. According to the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), accounts of six of his companies are frozen and their debts amount to more than RSD 1.5bn. Dunav Grupa Agregati’s debt is almost RSD 712mn. When he was arrested in October 2012, together with Vojvodinaput Director Zdravko Ilic and and Nova Crnja-based 8. avgust public communal company Director Dragan Aleksic, Borovica was suspected of corruption. The three men were suspected of accepting and giving bribes. Nova Crnja Mayor Pera Milankov, who was in custody, ordered Aleksic to issue fake invoices to the municipality without carrying out a public procurement procedure for the placing of new asphalt at a swimming pool parking lot in Nova Crnja, incurring damages worth RSD 3.1mn to the Nova Crnja municipality.
