KOSOVSKA MITROVICA The Kosovo police arrested a man from Podujevo on suspicion that he opened fire at international and local police three days ago. This was confirmed by Kosovo police regional spokesman Besim Hoti. Kosovo: Timber thief arrested for shooting at police The 43-year-old ethnic Albanian, whose name has not been disclosed yet, turned himself in to the police in Podujevo because of the incident that had taken place on Mt. Satorica near the village of Borcani. The site is located between the municipalities of Leposavic, Kursumlija and Podujevo in northern Kosovo. The unidentified persons - who, according to reports earlier this week, were caught stealing timber - "opened fire in the direction of the Kosovo police and EULEX, representatives of UNMIK and Kosovo Forest Agency". No one was injured during the accident. The suspect was placed in a 48-hour detention, he will face serious criminal charges, including attack on official authorities, putting the international personnel at risk, possession of arms, and timber theft, Hoti said.
