Deputy PM Bozidar Djelic, said late on Tuesday that salaries and pensions cannot be unfrozen before January 2011. “We all want to get out of the regime of frozen salaries and pensions, and the only question is when conditions will be provided for that to happen. Agreement has been reached with the International Monetary Fund mission that this can take place in January next year,” he told the state broadcaster, RTS. Wages, pensions can't be unfrozen, says minister Djelic also announced that the possibility to unfreeze salaries and pensions before 2011 will be discussed next week in talks “based on facts and figures”. The IMF mission has arrived in Serbia to discuss the fifth revision of the stand-by arrangement with Serbia.
