Miller promises fast construction of South Stream

Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors, Alexey Miller, said that the South Stream pipeline would be built by the end of 2015. He said that it would be built as quickly as the North Stream pipeline. Work began officially on the pipeline on Friday. He said that these are only ideas, adding that the route has been confirmed and that South Stream would go from Russia under the Black Sea, through Bulgaria, Serbia, Hungary, and Slovenia, to Austria. There would also be another leg of the pipeline going through Greece towards southern Italy. Miller said that he has no indications that the pipeline would not be completed by 2015.
