The International Monetary Fund’s Board of Directors will discuss the stand-by arrangement with Serbia on Jan. 16 and probably approve it, B92 understands. The IMF board will probably give the go-ahead to the arrangement with Serbia because, in their opinion, all the conditions set by the institution in November have been met. "IMF to approve standby arrangement" The IMF called on Serbia to adopt a restrictive budget, with a projected deficit of no more than 1.5 percent. A Memorandum of Responsibility for achieving target inflation of eight percent is also being drawn up, and is due to be signed by the National Bank and the government in mid-January.
