IMF mission arrives in Serbia

A mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Paul Hilbers, has Friday started its two-week consultations in Serbia. The first meeting was with National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Radovan Jelasic and his deputies. IMF mission arrives in Serbia The consultations are held according to the IMF Statute Article 4, conducted once a year with each of its member states. The IMF team will also talk to members of the cabinet and other institutions, such as business banks and companies, in order to gain insight into the country's macroeconomic situation, ongoing measures and planned economic policy for next year. After these consultations, the mission will publish its appraisal of Serbia's economy, an important signal for foreign investors. The detailed report will first be sent to the IMF Board of Directors.
