Cindy Crawford’s son, model Presley Gerber, dies at 27.
Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at the age of 27, his mother’s representative confirmed to CNN.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, Gerber died on Sunday while staying at a rehabilitation facility. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
“The family asks for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the family representative said.
Presley was Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s only son, as well as the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber.
He entered the world of fashion as a teenager. He made his runway debut at the age of 16 and went on to work with numerous renowned fashion houses and brands, including Moschino, Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren. He also appeared in campaigns for Calvin Klein, Celine, Pepsi and Omega.
In recent years, Gerber had spoken publicly about his struggles with mental health and addiction. In a 2023 podcast appearance, he said he wanted to use his platform to raise awareness about the importance of mental health.
He also launched an initiative called “Mental Health Mondays,” through which he discussed mental health, and worked with organizations that support people experiencing homelessness.
In December last year, he posted a video on Instagram in which he spoke about the medications he had been taking, including antidepressants and Xanax for panic attacks. The video has since been removed.
His mother, Cindy, publicly responded at the time: “Presley — we love you, and you are not alone.”
Earlier this month, Kaia Gerber also spoke about her brother’s struggles with addiction. In an interview with American Vogue, she said that his experience had deeply affected the entire family and that Presley had been open about his struggles.
Presley Gerber was born in 1999 in California. He leaves behind a career in modeling, as well as a public account of his own struggles with mental health and addiction.
The cause of his death remains unknown, and an investigation is ongoing.
