Trump and Netanyahu meet PHOTO
U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House today, shortly after concluding talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to NBC, the U.S. President and the Israeli Prime Minister are meeting in person for the first time since the latest escalation of tensions between Israel and Iran. The main topics of discussion are expected to include the security situation in the Middle East, U.S.-Israel cooperation, and ongoing diplomatic efforts in the region.
In recent days, Trump said that he and Netanyahu have some differences over military operations, but added that their positions remain "very close".
At the same time, he emphasized that he has a "great relationship" with the Israeli prime minister.
A few days later, Trump confirmed in an interview with the New York Post that he had discussed Israel's strikes in Lebanon with Netanyahu, saying he was not angry but "a little upset" about the continuation of the fighting.
Speaking about Netanyahu's political future, Trump declined to say whether he supports his re-election, but described the Israeli prime minister as "an excellent wartime leader" and added that he believes Netanyahu should enjoy significant public support because of it.
Following the meeting, Trump, Netanyahu, and Zelensky are scheduled to attend the funeral of Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
