That's it, he's going to drop a nuclear bomb?

U.S. President Donald Trump could order a nuclear strike on Iran within the next few days, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson claims in a lengthy post on the social media platform X.

According to his information, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is putting intense pressure on Trump to authorize such an attack, and the U.S. president could make a decision by November 7.

Carlson further claims that the target would be Mount Pickaxe in central Iran, where, according to Israeli intelligence officials, the Iranian government has resumed its uranium enrichment programme.

The report also claims that the facilities are located in tunnels beneath approximately 90 metres of solid granite, making them impossible to destroy with any conventional weapon in the U.S. arsenal.

Alleged pressure from Netanyahu

"The only military option is a nuclear strike. Netanyahu is putting intense pressure on Trump to carry it out," Carlson wrote, citing an unnamed source familiar with the matter. "Bibi calls Trump every day about this," Carlson quoted the source as saying.

According to media reports, Carlson has not provided any publicly verifiable evidence to support these claims, and it remains unclear whether a U.S. plan for a nuclear strike actually exists.

Nevertheless, Carlson claims that Netanyahu is in a difficult political position following the elections, as he is unable to form a government without Trump's direct intervention to secure the support of at least 61 members of the Knesset.

Otherwise, Carlson believes, Netanyahu would lose his position as prime minister and face investigations, potentially even a prison sentence. "Netanyahu needs to remain close to Trump. He needs this war," Carlson wrote.

Carlson also claims that Netanyahu is putting particularly strong pressure on his allies within the U.S. administration, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and the commander of U.S. Central Command, Brad Cooper. According to Carlson, both oppose a negotiated settlement to the conflict and advocate a resumption of large-scale military operations.

He also claims that Netanyahu's policies are being followed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and officials from the Democratic Party.

The controversial American journalist further claims that Washington's longtime allies in the Middle East are terrified of the possibility of a renewed war. According to his sources, Netanyahu secretly travelled to Abu Dhabi on September 27 in an attempt to persuade the United Arab Emirates to support a final strike against Iran, but was turned down.

Carlson warned that eight months of conflict had seriously threatened the economies of Gulf states, as well as global energy and fertilizer markets. He added that there are approximately 850 large oil tankers worldwide, 11 of which were seriously damaged in the Strait of Hormuz in October alone.

Carlson believes that further attacks of this kind could trigger a global economic depression, while a nuclear strike would accelerate the destruction even further. He also claims that a nuclear explosion at Mount Pickaxe could cause radioactive contamination of the Persian Gulf and threaten the drinking water supply of 100 million people.

"World War III would be inevitable"

Carlson warns that U.S. use of nuclear weapons against Iran could encourage similar attacks in other parts of the world. He claims that Russia has already told at least two other governments that a U.S. nuclear strike would give Moscow justification to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine.

He further believes that such a precedent could encourage Pakistan and India to launch nuclear attacks against each other, and North Korea to attack South Korea.

"After the first nuclear strike, World War III would be inevitable. That war would be short and final," he wrote.

According to Carlson, Trump is still hesitant for the time being and is listening to arguments from Vice President J.D. Vance and his special envoy Steve Witkoff, who believe that a diplomatic agreement with Iran is still possible.
