Trump rejects 45-day ceasefire; War with Iran continues

A White House official emphasized caution in interpreting reports about a possible agreement, saying, “This is one of several options under discussion, and the president has not approved it.”

In recent hours, multiple reports have surfaced regarding a potential ceasefire. Reuters, citing a source, reported that plans in two phases were presented to both Iran and the U.S., with an immediate ceasefire followed by a final agreement. This proposal, in which Pakistan plays a key role, also includes a 15–20 day period for concluding a broader deal.

Meanwhile, other media outlets reported on a separate 45-day ceasefire proposal, reportedly stemming from intensive negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.

These diplomatic efforts come as Trump ramps up pressure on Tehran. The U.S. president has given Iran a deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, threatening attacks on power plants and bridges if it fails to comply.

Trump is expected to address the public from the White House later today, with his statement scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Central European Time.
