Roads around U.S. President Donald Trump’s residence were cordoned off with police tape this morning following the incident, U.S. media report.

CBS News reported that streets and traffic around the White House were closed just before 7 a.m. 'due to a Secret Service investigation.'

A Secret Service spokesperson confirmed that a 'suspicious vehicle is under investigation, and the driver has been taken into custody and is being questioned'.

 

The Washington, D.C. Police Department (MPD) reported that a van drove through a security barricade near the White House, according to ABC7 News.
