Alarm in Russia; Putin preparing a new mobilization

The document, published in Moscow and dated today, outlines mobilization activities across the country.

According to the decree, reservists will be called up next year for military exercises within the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ rescue units, civil defense structures, the State Protection Service, and the Federal Security Service.

The exercises are defined as "official use," and part of the documentation is classified as internal material.

Putin has instructed the government and regional authorities to "ensure the implementation of measures related to the calling of reservists to military exercises and their execution."

The decree comes into effect on the day of its official publication.

This is yet another decision by the Kremlin aimed at maintaining high mobilization readiness of the Russian state after nearly four years of the invasion of Ukraine.
