"The situation is serious, they want war" PHOTO
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán posted a sharp comment today on his profile on the social network X, from Copenhagen, where the informal meeting of EU heads of state and government, as well as the European Political Community summit, is taking place.
“Copenhagen, day two. The situation is serious. Pro-war proposals are openly on the table. They want to hand over EU funds to Ukraine. They are trying to accelerate Ukraine’s accession through every possible legal trick,” Orbán stated at the outset.
He continued in a sharp tone:
“They want to finance arms deliveries. All these proposals clearly show that the Brussels team wants war. I will firmly uphold the Hungarian position, but this summit also proves that the coming months will be marked by the threat of war. We will need the support of the entire political community and of every Hungarian who longs for peace.”
Meanwhile, an informal meeting of EU heads of state and government has been taking place in the Danish capital since yesterday, and today the European Political Community (EPC) summit continues.
The host is Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and the meetings are focused on Europe’s security, hybrid threats, migration, and support for Ukraine.
As a reminder, before leaving for Copenhagen, the Hungarian Prime Minister had already stressed that the meetings to be held would be like a “cage fight.”
Orbán wrote on Facebook at the time that European leaders, including the President of the European Commission and the prime ministers of Poland and Sweden, were pressuring Hungary to support Ukraine’s EU membership, MTI reported.
He described such demands as “ominous signs” indicating that Europe is taking major steps toward war.
