Trump: It could have been a mistake VIDEO
US President Donald Trump said last night that "the Russian drone incursion into Poland could have been a mistake", but also expressed his frustration at the incident which has upset Warsaw and other NATO allies.
"It could have been a mistake, but regardless, I'm not happy about anything to do with that whole situation. But I hope it comes to an end," Trump told reporters at the White House before leaving for New York in the presidential helicopter, according to Bloomberg.
Trump then added that he would condemn Russia "even because it is close to that line".
"I don't like it. I'm not happy about it," Trump said.
Poland has asked its allies for additional air defense systems and anti-drone technology to better protect itself from Russian incursions following an incident early yesterday when drones crossing into its territory from Ukraine and Belarus were shot down by NATO forces.
At the request of Poland, NATO activated Article 4 of the North Atlantic Treaty, in order to begin consultations among the member states of the Alliance regarding the violation of Polish airspace by drones.
