Great war breaking out in Europe? The Russians moving to the Balkans?
The French authorities believe that a major conflict in Europe is possible in 2030, in which France and its allies would be involved, according to the country's "Strategic National Review" for 2025.
In the document, according to the Russian portal Sputnik, claims about the Russian threat are often made, and that portal stated that the words Russia, Russian and Moscow were mentioned more than 80 times in the document.
Specifically, the document claims that there is allegedly a possibility of Russian aggression against Europe within three to five years.
The French authorities believe that Russia could allegedly attack Moldova, the Balkans or even a NATO country.
"It is now clear that we are entering a new era of increased danger of a high-intensity war breaking out outside the country's territory, in Europe, into which France and its allies, especially European ones, may be drawn in 2030. At the same time, our territory could be exposed to intense hybrid attacks," the document states.
On the other hand, the press office of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR) claims to have information that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is trying to involve Chisinau in a potential armed conflict with Russia.
"According to the information received by the SVR, NATO is actively preparing to use Moldova in a possible armed conflict with Russia. In Brussels, a decision was made to accelerate the transformation of that country into an Alliance base on the eastern flank, taking into account the advance of Russian forces in Ukraine," according to the statement, reported by the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.
According to the SVR report, NATO is trying to make Moldovan territory suitable for the rapid deployment of Alliance troops to the Russian borders.
