NATO has moved closer to Russia
A NATO reconnaissance aircraft registered in the United States spent more than four hours circling around Russia's westernmost region, the Kaliningrad Region, flying through Polish and Estonian airspace, a source in air traffic control services told TASS.
The "Bombardier Artemis II" aircraft began circling near the Russian region at around 2:10 p.m. and is now returning to its home base in Constanța, Romania, the source told the Russian state news agency, adding that the aircraft's route took it over international waters in the Baltic Sea.
"Flying at an altitude of approximately 11 kilometres, the aircraft carried out circular manoeuvres, also crossing corridors designated for civil aviation," the source added.
According to the source, this is one of the main routes used by the "Bombardier Artemis II", which flies along it several times a week.
This aircraft is also frequently spotted over international waters in the southern part of the Baltic Sea, flying from west to east and back again. Occasionally, the reconnaissance aircraft also flies over the central parts of the Baltic states, making turns near Estonia's coastline along the Gulf of Finland.
