Zelensky on the drone attack: Our people were quickly withdrawn from Russian territory

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that the members of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), who were preparing the special operation "Network" in which drones attacked four Russian military airports, were quickly withdrawn from Russian territory.

In a post on Facebook, Zelensky said that the operation was planned for "a year, six months and nine days", reported Ukrinform.

He added that he listened to the report of the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, regarding this special operation.

"Absolutely brilliant result. Ukraine's unenviable result. Our people who were preparing the operation were withdrawn from Russian territory on time," Zelensky pointed out.

He said that he ordered the SBU to inform the public about the details and results of the operation, which can be published.

"Of course, we cannot reveal everything now, but these are Ukrainian operations that will definitely be in the history books. Ukraine is defending itself, and quite rightly so - we are doing everything to make Russia feel the need to end this war. Russia started this war, Russia must end it," said Zelensky.

A meeting of the delegations is expected tomorrow in Istanbul at 12 noon

It is expected that the meeting of the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Istanbul will take place tomorrow at 12:00 or 13:00 local time in Çırağan Palace, an unnamed source from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.

The aim of the meeting is to pave the way for a potential ceasefire, reports Reuters. The Russian delegation traveled to Istanbul today for negotiations with the Ukrainian delegation, an unnamed source told RIA Novosti. Moscow will submit a memorandum on the future peace agreement, which includes all aspects of resolving the causes of the conflict, according to the agency.

The composition of the Russian delegation will be the same as in the previous round - assistant to the Russian president Vladimir Medinsky, deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mikhail Galuzin, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Igor Kostyukov and deputy minister of defense Alexander Fomin.
