However, it is claimed on social networks that the mysterious Russian radio station UVB-76, which broadcast a coded message ahead of the talks between the presidents of the USA and Russia, has been "reactivated".

The British "Metro" reports that the station broadcast the code "NZhTI 89905 BLEFOPUF 4097 5573" before the call to the White House, and a few hours later another one - "NZhTI 01263 BOLTANKA 4430 9529".

At this time, there is no indication of what the alleged message could mean, and the audio has been released on social media. However, its authenticity has not been independently verified.

The enigma called "Buzzer"

The Telegraph reports that shortwave radio station UVB-76 (known as the "Buzzer") has been an enigma since the Cold War, and is believed to have been activated for the first time in the 1970s.

The signal is broadcast on a frequency of 4625 kilohertz and allegedly belongs to the armed forces of Russia.

"If you tune the radio to 4625 kHz, you will hear a monotonous hum that repeats at a rate of approximately 25 tones per minute, 24 hours a day. Occasionally, male voices are heard saying messages in Russian," the text states.

It is not known where the "program" is being broadcast from

For a long time it was assumed that the signal was coming from the town of Povarovo, near Moscow. Since 2010, however, there has been speculation about locations in western Russia.

The mysterious radio station has occupied the minds of US and NATO specialists for decades, and there are several theories about its purpose.

Some believe that it represents the internal communication system of the army or intelligence services, others that it sends signals into space, and the third that it is part of the Perimeter nuclear system.

This automated complex - known in the West as the "Dead Hand" - was created in the USSR at the height of the Cold War, and today is used by Russia.

It is designed to deliver combat orders to command posts and strategic missile launchers in the event of a sudden nuclear attack on the country, i.e. damage to the main lines of communication.
