Preliminary election results in Albania: Rama's Socialist Party leads convincingly
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama's Socialist Party is convincingly leading in the parliamentary elections, after the opening of the first ballot boxes, the "Albanian Post" reports this morning, referring to the data published by the Central Election Commission

The results refer to the first 1,038 ballot boxes opened throughout Albania, out of a total of 5,225.
According to the data published by the CEC, the Socialist Party managed to get 53.26 percent of the votes in yesterday's elections.
According to the projections of the Albanian newspaper, the Socialist Party is most likely on its way to its fourth mandate, considering that it leads convincingly and has an advantage in the majority of districts in the country, after the first ballot boxes were opened.
On the other hand, the Democratic Party - Alliance for a Greater Albania, according to CEC data, currently records 33.92 percent of the vote, which ranks it as the second political force.
The Social Democratic Party won 3.79 percent of the votes, followed by the Coalition Initiative with 3.51 percent of the votes won.
Voting in the parliamentary elections in Albania ended last night at 19:00, when the polling stations were closed.
According to the latest data from the Central Election Commission, the turnout was 41.41 percent.
A total of 3.7 million citizens had the right to vote, and the diaspora participated in the voting for the first time.
A total of 2,046 candidates, i.e. 186 candidates from each constituency, competed for 140 seats in the parliament.
