"Rama, resign!": Protesters march towards Government building again
Protesters in Tirana have gathered again and are heading towards the office of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, just minutes after police had previously dispersed them.
Protesters chanted "Rama, resign!" as police set up a security cordon and prevented them from approaching the government building.
After demonstrators refused to move along the pavement and attempted to cross the area in front of the Prime Minister's Office, police used pepper spray against them, Euronews Albania reports.
Meanwhile, police operational units continued patrolling several locations across Tirana, with the aim of identifying and arresting individuals suspected of taking part in incidents during the protests.
Several people were detained following clashes outside the Ministry of Education, where Molotov cocktails were thrown and protesters clashed with police.
Police had earlier managed to disperse the crowds and clear them from the security perimeter after issuing warnings over loudspeakers and deploying water cannons.
