Chaos in Sudan: The army takes over the Presidential Palace VIDEO
The Sudanese army is close to taking control of the Presidential Palace in Khartoum from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) paramilitary, marking a significant breakthrough in the two-year conflict that threatens to tear the country apart, Sudan's state TV reports

Clashes broke out near the palace late last night, and the army also targeted central Khartoum with airstrikes, witnesses and military sources told Reuters.
After nearly two years of war, the RSF controls most of western Sudan and parts of the capital Khartoum, but has suffered defeats from the army in central Sudan.
Those two military factions, the army and the RSF, staged a coup in 2021 toppling the civilian government, and war broke out in April 2023 after plans for a new transition sparked violent conflict.
The war in Sudan has led to what the United Nations calls the world's biggest humanitarian crisis, with both the RSF and the army accused of massive human rights abuses.
