Progress is minimal, and patience is running out, Croatian media report.

The Serbian Ministry of Interior (MUP) commented on the situation yesterday, stating that traffic for freight vehicles exiting Serbia toward Croatia is moving slowly due to the introduction of a new information system in Croatia.

“According to available information, the disruption in traffic occurred due to the introduction of a new Croatian customs information system, which has been in use since June 1, as confirmed in contacts with the competent Croatian border authorities,” the Serbian Ministry of Interior said.

As stated on Tuesday, at the Šid and Bezdan border crossings, traffic on entry is operating normally, while on exit there is a complete suspension of traffic for freight vehicles.

According to the Serbian Ministry of Interior (MUP), at the Batrovci, Bačka Palanka, and Bogojevo crossings, freight traffic entering Serbia is moving normally, while exit traffic is slow.

Croatian media reported today that the truck queue is even longer than the previous day, and it is also stated that the last truck in the line is about a 45-minute drive away from the actual border crossing.

One of the drivers told local media that he had not moved for 35 hours.

“I haven’t moved at all for 35 hours, and after that I only managed to get 500 meters closer to the crossing,” he said.
