Criminal Police members entered Rectorate premises: Checking for unsecured entrances to Faculty of Philosophy
Members of Criminal Police Directorate, acting on the order of Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, have entered Rectorate premises – they're checking for unsecured entrances to Faculty of Philosophy and irregularities in the operation of Rectorate.
Members of the Criminal Police Directorate of the Serbian Ministry of Interior entered the premises of the University of Belgrade Rectorate under the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of a comprehensive investigation into the death of a 25-year-old student and potential irregularities in the Rectorate’s operations.
According to confirmation received by RTS from the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, information and evidence collected so far from interviewed citizens indicate the existence of unsecured entrances from the Rectorate building to the Faculty of Philosophy.
This entrance, and it is believed several others exist as well, was not covered by the contracted security company but was instead monitored by certain students and professors, an RTS source familiar with the investigation stated, pointing out that all of this represents a security concern.
Furthermore, the investigation has revealed that there is no record of when the deceased student entered the Faculty of Philosophy or for what purpose.
For this reason, as RTS was told, it is important to examine all possible scenarios and determine who bears responsibility for any potential security lapses.
Numerous banners were found in the Rectorate.
