Vučić in the Emirates makes headline news on official UAE president's website; "Serbia stands by its friends"

The visit of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, to Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates is not only headline news in local media, but also featured prominently on the official website of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

It is worth noting that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, is the third world leader and the first European leader to visit the United Arab Emirates after it came under Iranian missile attacks.

According to the official website of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the two leaders discussed bilateral cooperation as well as the situation in the region in light of the escalating military conflict and its serious consequences not only for regional but also for international security and stability.

They also discussed Iranian attacks on the UAE and other countries in the region, particularly those targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure, including facilities of vital importance. Vučić condemned the attacks and reiterated Serbia’s solidarity with the UAE at this time, the official statement said.

Both presidents emphasized the need for dialogue, diplomacy, and an immediate cessation of military actions, according to the official website.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties between Serbia and the United Arab Emirates, as well as their economic partnership.

 Vučić also reflected on his visit to the United Arab Emirates, saying:

“Difficult times create great people, and the friendship and courage of those who have always embodied them are the greatest gift and a value beyond price… Such is my friend, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, one of the world’s most powerful leaders, with whom I spoke today about developments in the Middle East and the growing tensions spilling beyond the region, whose consequences are already being felt globally—from issues of general and energy security to impacts on the economy and other sectors.”

"Serbia stands by its friends in the UAE, just as they have stood by our country and people in difficult times", said Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who traveled to the UAE to offer friendly support to the Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the most difficult moment for his country and people.

Vučić has repeatedly highlighted to our public and citizens how many times the UAE has come to Serbia’s aid when it was most needed, and, as he always emphasizes, true friends are recognized in times of trouble.
