Interior Minister Ivica Dačić, after suffering from double pneumonia that required him to be placed on mechanical ventilation, is being discharged from the Clinical Center today.

Dačić spoke publicly on Monday for the first time since his hospitalization, saying that he is recovering and could soon continue treatment at home.

"Dear friends, I am addressing you for the first time since that terrible day, February 25. I came back to life! I am still in the hospital, but the medical board formed by Minister Lončar informed me that I should be discharged in the coming days and continue treatment at home. That dark day clearly showed me what and who should be my priorities. A day when I fell asleep on the verge of death, five days unconscious on the edge between life and death, and my awakening again on the birthday of my late father Desimir, March 2," he wrote on his Instagram account.
