Vučić on meeting with Kos: A very good discussion on current issues in relations between Serbia and the EU
President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated today that he had a very good discussion with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos on current issues in relations between Serbia and EU, with a particular focus on reform commitments and energy security.
“The focus was on reform commitments, strengthening the rule of law and institutions, improving the investment climate, better connectivity through infrastructure, as well as energy security and the energy transition,” Vučić wrote on his Instagram account.
He emphasized that they also discussed ways to use European instruments and the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans to accelerate economic convergence and open up additional development opportunities for the economy and young people.
“I particularly stressed that, in a time of growing divisions, it is important for Serbia to preserve the spirit of dialogue in the region and in Europe, because this is the only sustainable path to resolving open issues, preserving peace, and creating conditions for long-term progress,” Vučić said.
Later in the day, Vučić is expected to hold a number of bilateral meetings with world officials and to attend an address by U.S. President Donald Trump.
