Vučić with the new head of OSCE mission to Serbia: OSCE represents the most important platform for dialogue
The President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, met with the head of the OSCE mission in Serbia, Marcel Pesko.
"Warm meeting with Marcel Pesko, to whom I congratulated on assuming the position of Head of the OSCE Mission in Serbia and expressed our commitment to continuing the good cooperation our country has with this organization. I emphasized my belief that the extensive diplomatic experience of my esteemed interlocutor will contribute to improving the processes we will work on together.
I particularly stressed that Serbia, despite the challenges it faces, considers the OSCE to remain the most important security platform for dialogue and is ready to contribute to the revitalization and strengthening of constructive dialogue and jointly established plans, which will be aligned with the progress and real needs of our country on the path of reforms.
I highlighted that Serbia has approached the implementation of ODIHR recommendations seriously and in a cooperative manner regarding amendments to the Law on the Unified Voter Register, media laws, and the electoral process for REM Council members, about which I provided detailed information to the new Head of the OSCE Mission in Serbia.
We also discussed other topics of importance for our future cooperation, and I reiterated our gratitude for the support the OSCE provides us on the path to full EU membership, through assistance and cooperation in the fields of the rule of law, human rights, and democracy," Vučić stated on Instagram.
