Blockade of RTS suspended; A new competition for REM members has been announced
Students in the blockade announced tonight that they are ending the blockade of RTS.
They announced on social networks as well as in front of RTS that they are suspending the blockade that lasted from April 14, since the Committee for Culture and Information made a decision to cancel the old one and announced a new competition for the election of REM Council members.
The Committee for Culture made a decision to initiate a new procedure for the REM Council
The Committee for Culture and Information of the Parliament of Serbia made a decision this evening to initiate a new procedure for proposing candidates for the election of members of the Council of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media.
15 MPs voted in favor of announcing a new competition for the REM Council.
The board previously invalidated the decision on the preliminary procedure of November 25.
The announcement of a new competition for REM Council members was requested by opposition MPs, members of the Committee for Culture and Information, and previously by students in the blockade who have been blocking RTS since April 14.
