EXPO2027 Playground opened; Mali: "The space of 2,300 square meters, you can see everything that's been built"

He emphasized that more than 130 participating countries are expected.

EXPO Playground was officially opened by the Minister of Finance Siniša Mali and the director of EXPO 2027 company Dušan Borovčanin by pressing a button on the led screen.

"EXPO is a chance for us to show that we are united. EXPO is a chance to show unity and harmony, that no one can divide us and to show that we will be the center of the world in 2027," he pointed out.

He said that Belgrade and Serbia will be the center of the world in 2027.

Minister of Finance Siniša Mali said at the opening that it was an honor and a pleasure for him to speak at the opening of this beautiful space dedicated to organizing the EXPO 2027 specialized exhibition in Belgrade.

"This space has about 2,300 square meters, hall 5. For those who say we are demolishing, here in hall 5 we have a complete view of the new space, in which we will present Serbia to its citizens and the world," he said.

It will be open to all citizens, delegations, everyone who wants to come, said the minister.

"You will have the opportunity to see from 1 to 8 p.m. everything we have done and are doing, which is related to the EXPO project, to see how Serbia has presented itself throughout history at the Expo. Here, we will talk with the delegations about their participation in the Expo 2027, about everything related to their participation," Mali said.

The director of the company EXPO 2027, Dušan Borovčanin, pointed out at the opening that he is happy and proud to have the opportunity to stand in front of everyone, at the space called EXPO Playground.

"For me, this space, like the EXPO, is a common space for all citizens of the world, Serbia. From tomorrow, when it opens, it will become a place for exploring ideas, it will have a multifaceted role, primarily in bringing the EXPO to the citizens of Serbia, and it will also be a space for the countries that will participate and present themselves at the EXPO," said Borovčanin.

He thanked all the collaborators who worked on the project, so that this space could see the light of day.

"From tomorrow, it will be available for citizens, in the center is the pavilion currently showing Serbia's participation in the EXPO throughout history. The content will be supplemented later," he added and welcomed everyone.

Among those present are the Minister of Sports Zoran Gajić, director of TOS Marija Labović, director of TOB Miodrag Popović, mayor of Novi Sad Žarko Mićin, ambassadors of Italy, Egypt and other dignitaries.

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Siniša Mali said after the official opening of the EXPO 2027 Playground at the Belgrade Fair that the specialized exhibition EXPO 2027 is a chance to show harmony, unity and stability, as well as how to fight for further growth and development.

"Today, at the opening of this space, I said that the EXPO is an opportunity for us to show harmony, unity, stability, to show that we are fighting for peace, that we are fighting for further growth and development, for higher salaries and pensions" said Mali.

Mali added that the goal of this government is to build, not tear down.

Mali pointed out that EXPO 2027 will change the face of Serbia in every sense for the better and that 2028 will be a new opportunity for development.

"We will use the two years, until we open the exhibition, for bilateral meetings, development of relations in culture, sports, economy. So, it's a huge potential for cooperation," said the minister.

He added that in the next two years, new roads, factories, new high-speed railways, schools, kindergartens and hospitals will be opened and that all this will change the image of Serbia.

"We are raising salaries, raising pensions, raising the minimum wage, because now imagine Serbia in 2027, more than three million visitors come from all over the world just because of the EXPO. We have done a lot in terms of infrastructure and after that a completely new chapter in the history of the development and growth of our Serbia opens for you. Because you have completely changed the image, raised the quality of the infrastructure to the maximum, simply on the new generations, it is up to the younger ones to continue on that path even faster," he added. He pointed out that this kind of opportunity is offered once in a lifetime and should not be missed.

When EXPO 2027 passes, Serbia will have the entire infrastructure, said Mali.

"We will have a completely new exhibition space that will be used for the organization of various fairs and events. But that whole part will then become the subject of further growth and development. We are planning there, as you know, water parks and two theme parks. The whole area from Block 45 to the EXPO is open for growth and development. You also have private land there. Someone will build residential buildings, office buildings or commercial facilities. So, you are building a completely new part of the city, employing not only the construction industry, but also those people who will work in all those institutions", emphasized Mali.

He added that EXPO is the greatest possible source of growth and development.
