Money is hitting bank accounts! Mali explains who gets 6,000 dinars today and who'll have to wait until Friday

Mali specified that around 7.1 million people in total are entitled to the 6,000-dinar cash payment, including deceased individuals who had acquired beneficiary status through the Shareholders’ Fund.

“Approximately 4.8 million people acquired beneficiary status through the Shareholders’ Fund, and that money will be paid today. Of course, I repeat, it is important to emphasize that this number also includes deceased individuals, so the money will go to their legal heirs,” the minister said.

He added that money would also be paid today into the accounts of pensioners and social assistance recipients, who did not need to apply for this form of financial support.

“In total, we expect around 5.4 million payments today, of which 4.9 million will be made through Poštanska štedionica Bank,” the minister said.

He explained that on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, payments will then be made to everyone who additionally registered through the Treasury Administration’s portal, up to and including yesterday.

“A total of 1,748,844 citizens registered through the Treasury Administration’s portal for the 6,000-dinar cash support, and we will begin making those payments tomorrow. By September 25, we will have made around 7.1 million payments, which once again demonstrates Serbia’s economic strength at this moment. We are distributing more money from the budget to citizens and continuing to build economic growth, which is the only thing that can bring us progress amid major global uncertainties and turbulence,” the acting minister said.

Mali recalled that the 2026 budget revision, adopted at the end of August and based on higher-than-planned revenues, allocated additional funds to support economic growth, increase investment and finance development projects, while maintaining macroeconomic stability, a moderate level of public debt and projected economic growth of 3.3%.

“We are preparing for everything that lies ahead as long as global conflicts and economic crises remain ongoing, but we will not allow their effects to spill over into citizens’ living standards and quality of life, because we have spent an entire decade working to improve them and have succeeded,” he stressed.

Mali also recalled that on September 14, all pensioners in Serbia received financial support of 35,000, 27,500 or 20,000 dinars, depending on the amount of their pension.

At the time, he added, beneficiaries of child allowance, social assistance and veterans’ benefits also received 25,000 dinars each, while veterans who do not receive veterans’ benefits received 10,000 dinars each.

“Through a support package worth a total of €980.6 million, Serbia is showing why it is one of the fastest-growing economies in Europe and that, following painful reforms implemented over the past decade, it has become a country resilient to external economic shocks and capable of protecting citizens’ living standards. In doing so, we are also protecting the foundation for the further growth that is necessary. We are here for our citizens; they are no longer left at the mercy of crises,” Siniša Mali concluded.
