IS accused of trading in human organs

Mohamed Alhakim late on Tuesday in New York told reporters that over the past few weeks a number bodies were found in mass graves in Iraq "with surgical incisions, missing kidneys or other organs," AP reported.

He added that the IS members in Mosul executed a dozen doctors "who refused to participate in the organ harvesting."

Alhakim briefed the Security Council on the overall situation in Iraq and accused the Islamic State of "genocide" - since their victims come from "specific ethnic groups."

At the same time, the outgoing UN envoy in Iraq revealed that in January alone, 790 people were killed in terrorist attacks and armed conflicts in Iraq.
