To be fair, the pope called for "holy" war against Muslims some 600 years ago... But, since then the popes have moved on to the 21st century, whereas the Orthodox Serbian patriarch is stuck in 1389!
(icj1, 11 December 2016 09:30)

The Serb patriarch maybe stuck in 1389, but how many suicide attacks, killings or bombings has he or his faithful carried out throughout Europe?
(sj, 12 December 2016 12:04)

It's great that even the CE of B92 forums sj agrees that the Serbian patriarch maybe stuck in 1389. And, according to the UN, his faithful carried out thousands of killings throughout Europe...

(icj1, 12 December 2016 15:20)

Where in Europe did that occur?
(sj, 12 December 2016 22:48)

According to the UN, that ocurred in a place in Europe called Srebrenica. I'm surprised though that the UN has not notified the CE of B92 forums sj about that. That needs to be immediately addressed!

To "Paul", "joni" and "icj1" (especially as being the ones who've responded to my initial questions:

Many thanks. What I'm trying to establish, as factually as possible, is how Serb Catholics are regarded by both their Croat-Catholic and Serb-Orthodox brethren. [I know that there's a substantial Catholic minority in Serbia.] Are they disdained &/or hated by either group? Are they discriminated against in any way whatsoever?

Here I sadly know all too well just how there are very few, if any, Croat Orthodox, most of whom lived in "Krajina" and were evicted from Croatia by Franjo Tuđman in the 1990s - and any who still remain likely continue to experience severe persecution. How have their Serb brothers been treating them?

If you - &/or anybody else - can honestly answer these questions, it would be most welcome.

I can't say enough just how these religious divisions hurt me as a Christian who knows how close Orthodoxy and Catholicism are to each other (in addition to my half-Serb, half-Russian ancestry while bearing in mind that one of my few true friends is half-Croat, half-Austrian - we've known each other for over 31 years and he has been extremely good to me!!!). By rights, these brotherly peoples should be friends of each other, NOT ENEMIES!!!!

In the trial, for example the advocate of Mladic were not mentioned Vukovar or Catholic Croatia.
This is only a low stroke, by the Serbian Government and the Orthodox church, what i my opinion will have to much consequences in the future, because as I see Serbs see it like an arm in their hand, but that is only for the moment, but it raise too much hate and walls. Who like to see it, is free to see it! The Catholic Church is more consolidated. Vatican holds one position, and no matter how many problem the Catholics have, she call for the respect of all the Religions. While I see the Orthodox church, being disoriented. That’s the truth!

I don't think that Serbs are not very religious actually. I think the Orthodox religion in general in Serbia is involved in politics affairs. Actually that don’t happened in none of the other Balkan countries of European countries. Permitting the politics affair using her – especially in Serbia, you will see it involved in every conflict. Now, regarding to the Croats, the Orthodox church, can’t do to much, because Vatican is strong enough and all Europe is Catholic.
You will see ( if you have not yet seen) the Orthodox church being directly involved and call for war against Muslims in Balkan which actually share borders with Serbia. Actually being Muslims in one Christian Europe never has been a problem, as much as the muslims of Ballkan are all European, have all Christian roots, and are all European oriented. No to much ties or in common with Muslims in Middle East. Muslim in Balkan are genetically European.
So, the Muslim European are a vulnerable minority in Europe, so Serbs are using and will use the Orthodoxism to fight them. No b$$$lls with Catholicism!

Hey, ADHD! That's what Croatians are. They are Serbian Catholics. The only ethnic difference between Croatians and Serbians proper is their religion and the text they use to write with. The Croatians use the Latin text and the self identified Serb use the Cyrillic.

This dude nikolic takes the cake, being the dumbest president of all time. Everytime he speaks he is just showing us how backed up he is.
(EU, 9 December 2016 10:33)

He may not be the brightest bulb in the pack, but he's simply responding to the latest round of idiocy coming from Croatia and its president who in my opinion is much dumber than Toma. His statements wouldn't have been made if she didn't "apologize" for giving children the wrong chocolate as if she somehow gave them poison. The only country "backed up" seems to be Croatia with its rampant xenophobic nationalism.

Question: it seems as if it's Catholic Croats and Orthodox Serbs who so hate and despise each other. How about Serb Catholics: how do THEY get treated by either Croatian Catholics and Serb Orthodox in either country?

I'd sincerely like to know, out of curiosity. Thanks in advance.

Croatia never good relations with Srbija! Croatia never good relations with Eastern Orthodox Christianity!

Croatia pretty much explained and showed how it loves Serbia and Eastern Orthodox Christianity during the early to mid 1940's and then again in 1992. Well over one million Serbian civilians murdered during World War Two by Croatian Nazi Ustase in Srpska Krajina and Bosna i Herzegovina and then in the early 1990's the murder, rape, torture and expulsion of all Serbian people from their ancient homes and lands in so called Croatia! So looks like Croatia won big time in the 1990's with the help of the USA, England and Germany and blessing of the Roman Catholic Empire!!!

@EU I totally agree with your sentiments entirely. This President speaks the language of the past - has he not noticed that the world has moved on. I totally agree the Croatian President has also made a mistake, but please Serbs just ignore it and move on. You should be trying to encourage better healthcare, education, transport and investment in jobs. How you have elected these politicians amazes me.

It's great that even the CE of B92 forums sj agrees that the Serbian patriarch maybe stuck in 1389. And, according to the UN, his faithful carried out thousands of killings throughout Europe...

Where in Europe did that occur?

According to the UN, that ocurred in a place in Europe called Srebrenica. I'm surprised though that the UN has not notified the CE of B92 forums sj about that. That needs to be immediately addressed!
