To be honest, I don't see what all the commotion is about. Republika Srpska should have the right to hold an referendum on whether to recognize the 9th of January as their official entity day. Furthermore, if aggression (war) is applied against Republika Srpska, they would be justified to succeed from BiH. This is coming from a Canadian and ethnic Croat.

Well played. Checkmate. A referendum is a legitimate means of democratic voting. Any attempt to use violence against a democratic process justifies succession. The EU did not threaten violence against the UK for the referendum results in Brexit, nor should Sarajevo threaten Republika Srpska.

Yes, and the Croats in Mostar and surrounding area should immediately separate as well; why are the Serbs and Croats being forced to live under a so called Bosnian Federation to be ruled by a so called Bosnian Federation? Wasn't this Yugoslavia? If the Western World was so against Yugoslavia, the Bosnian federation is nothing more than a mini-Jugoslavia. The Dayton Accord was forced on all parties instead of partition which was the best solution.

People are so butt hurt over a referendum that was provoked by the Bosniaks who initiated the forceful change of the main holiday in RS, and the 3 foreign judges who voted that they have the right to decide what holidays another ethnic group celebrate. Not once did Serbs try to tell other groups what holidays they are or aren't allowed to celebrate. Bosnia celebrates March 1st as the day when Yugoslavia was destroyed, and this holiday is offensive to Serbs. So what? Serbs work on that day and don't celebrate it, while Bosniaks and Croats do. That's fine, but no one will take way rights for Serbs to celebrate what ever they please.

That's why the referendum was necessary. And it will happen. And if the court starts to pass down more unfair rulings then the next referendum will be to nullify all of their previous and future rulings. And if extremists respond in violence, then RS will formally secede. Don't play with fire, Europe and USA have bigger problems these days to help you this time around. Let's keep the peace, leave RS alone and RS wont have to take any steps that might lead to conflict.

Simple, the Serbs in Bosnia wanted to remain in Yugoslavia, not under a Bosnian Federation. The Bosnian Muslims on the other hand wanted the Bosnian republic to remain and force both Serbs and Croats to live under that federation. Why don't you create a Muslim federation in London or NY and see how that goes over with the Americans and Brits. Better yet, a Mexican federation in Texas, Arizona, California or New Mexico.
