The UN convoy was attacked to divert attention from the first crime
(rote, 22 September 2016 13:51)

Why would Russia attack a UN aid convoy to divert attention from some Russian soldiers being killed?

I am reluctant to say, but Dodo is not my favorite. Look in the story of (Croato-Muslim) Bosnian Talgo-s. The guy is not only inconveniencing own people, he is damaging the otherwise already poor (Croato-Muslim-Pravoslav) Bosnian infrastructure.

Of cours the (BiH-Federation) sad story of Talgo trains is a story of corruption and incompetence. But at least they got things straight, with maybe 5 year delay. Why damage all this further? Why damage Croatia, Serbia, Hungary?
We have our own crap pouring on our own head, why we need Srpska-crap as a "bonus"? Besides, people like Dodo do not ride Talgo cars. They ride cars with three-pointed stars.

They should ride the depressing BiH Federation + Srpska trains for few weeks, in second class for a change, no first class and eat from own bag. And sh*t in the smelly Federation / Srpska train toilets. Than they understand (maybe).

Sorry to bring it up, that Dodo is not a nice guy (for us) and what I am writing here is a well-known local fact, not some stories.

Sure but the fate of the world is decided in Syria now. Some 80 states are involved with only 5 of them on Assad’s side. Two terrorist crimes committed by the US in Deir As Sor and Aleppo took away at least 82 men with some of them being Russians. The UN convoy was attacked to divert attention from the first crime. Russia is expected to give a military respond so the US cover themselves saying as if planes of Denmark, Australia and Israel were among the 4 planes that killed and wounded almost a battalion. Some experts believe that Russia may attack the 5000-7000 troopers of the US special forces deployed in the region. Looks like Turkey is on our side this time despite our support for the Kurds. Assad attacks in Hama, Damascus and Halebo. … So Balkan problems are not vital for the time being for my country. We have a fast increasing tense with the biggest army on Earth and no step back is even discussed. So follow the events in Syria to plan the developments in Europe.

It seems like a simple solution these are two separate issues. Kosovo cannot force Bosnia to recognise an independent RS. RS cannot force Serbia to recognise Kosovo.

If you give independence to whoever wants it, then where does it end? Croats in Bosnia & Albanians in Sandzak,Preševo Valley will want independence etc
Most people outside of Srb would agree that Kosovo should have independence because of brutal treatment of civilians at the hands of Serbian military during the wars.
It was also the Bosnian Serbs who had a deliberate policy of ethnic cleansing during the wars. Independence would be seen as validating that method. Any future independence referendum would win because non-Serbs were all expelled from the area.

My wish would be for a Bosnian referendum where both (or three) sides agree to split, like Czechoslovakia did

2 recent stories around Dodik
1/ the alleged white-collar theft of 750,000 euros from a bank then used by Dodik to buy a house. 2/ the Bosnian state police have been investigating a war crime committed in RS. Dodik is doing his best to prevent this including possibly destroying evidence from the case. Every time the state police attempt to investigate these two issues, Dodik starts shouting from his limousine window about how he is being oppressed.

It is classic case of distraction as ethnic Serbs are not mistreated in Bosnia and RS already celebrates that day and ignores plenty of the const.court decisions.

I'm no expert. But could this referendum see the start of negotiations in the Western Balkans. Serbia recognises Kosovo if Bosnia recognises the Republic of Srpska. A trade in territory. Am I wrong?

Things getting pretty heated up in the Balkans, Mrs. Hilly Billy Clinton has not even won presidency of USA yet and just look what is going on! Looks like it will be a pretty bloody next decade or so for Eastern Orthodox Christianity in the Balkans! It will be interesting how much smaller Serbia will become after another round of USA intervention! Serbian people had enough time to recover from the last purge but instead they continue to be divided and not united!!!

I love this man though dodik in the Russian slang means a naive and simple minded man. Also January 9 is called BLOODY SUNDAY/КРОВАВОЕ ВОСКРЕСЕНИЕ in Russia ...

"He called on as many RS citizens as possible to turn out and vote in the referendum. "
Of course there will be a high turnout. 40% of the RS are unemployed and have nothing else to do. Dodik thinks they need another holiday?
It would be funny if the possible consequences were not so serious.

The biggest criminal in the RS announces a provocative referendum so that he can divert attention from poor living standards and his own and his friends crimes.
Dodik is the only one trying to destroy Bosnia and RS and it is all for his own gain.

If he spent half his expense account on encouraging employment and investment, RS would be a much better place, but of course then people might not be interested in his self-serving "patriotism"
