Vucic "deeply moved" by results, vows to continue on EU path

SNS leader Aleksandar Vucic said late on Sunday he was "deeply moved" by <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics.php?yyyy=2016&mm=04&dd=24&nav_id=97789" class="text-link" target= "_blank">the results of the early parliamentary election</a> in Serbia.

10 parties in Serbia. And for elections, they make pre-election coalitions. Some of them are extremists (SRS, Dveri), some former communists, others 'reformed' radicals, a few democrats, others are lobbyist groups (LDP, pensioners party). And all together have the same amount of votes as the ruling party. Vivid democracy? I don't know.

Anyway, it's not surprising Vucic's party won most, it was predicted and natural, since he reached a lot in the last years, but a lot more to do. I can only hope he will use his clear mandate now to push European integration further, and pays less attention and effort to please extremists and nationalists.

I lived in Serbia and I never heard a Serb say anything good about Vuchic. Also, why did my wife receive a ballot at her mother's home with her old last name on it?
(Andrew, 25 April 2016 01:33)
To Andrew,
Where Serbia was with a 1 political party system(COMMUNIST), to today, where you have a choice to vote for alest 10 parties.Serbia has come along way,and still has a long way to go.I am not a Vucic supporter, but a Australian living near Jagodina ,Serbia. If you know about Serb politic's, you would know Markovic "Palma",(Socialist ),run's Jagodine, and has nothing to do with Vucic!.I don't work in a Serbian government job.I have come to Serbia in my 40's age to relax, and raise my young family, with Serb values and tradition.
I live with my Australian investments. You got me WRONG, I just don't like people talk negitive about Serbia, when half of Serb's that I have spoken too through Serbia, where going to vote for Vucic.Vucic won and good luck to Serbia.About your wife's voting,Again I don't work in any government section, and cannot answer that for you.

Serbia is still very much a "Selo"

So let us not over-exaggerate Serbia's political party system!

To factman,
From where ,Serbia was a communist run,to being in 4 Wars,to now!.It had only 1 (COMMUNIST) party to vote for,now you can vote for alest 10 political parties.Serbia has come along way,and it still has a long way to go!.Serbia has had alot of change over the last 3 year's in business, infrastructure, and trade, with opening of factories, store, etc.
To USA,"The land of the free",I laugh at that slogan that is over 200years old,and at that time, you had to be white to be free. That brainwashing slogan say's it all, with 2 political parties to vote.

USA run by a few people??

The USA is far too big a country.... for a few people to run

... with far too many people... for a few people to run

... with far too many business interests... for a few people to run

... with far too many private universities and research institutiond... for a few people to run

... with far too many investigative networks... for a few people to run

... with far too many ordinary people well-equipped with liberty... for a few people to run

Of Serbia's many parties, less than a handful even get more than 5% of the vote.

To call these political parties is a big stretch of the imagination. Ranko and Janko and Danko opening up an office and printing some business cards is hardly apolitical party.

"If you Andrew, lived in Serbia, you would know that alest half the people would vote for him!!.Dictators win election's with 80% plus, not 51%. Serbia has alot of parties for you to vote, not like USA(the land of the free) only has two parties to choose.
Then countries like Britain, and Australia only have a handful to vote.
That's why ,Serbia is not a bullshit free country, like USA run by a handful of people."

I lived 3 years in Novi Sad. Long enough to know what all of your political parities not mean anything when it comes to democracy. Long enough to see hooligans harass opposing party members. Long enough to see how Vuchic is a puppet to the west and they will turn a blind eye to his dictatorship in Serbia as long as Vuchic does what the west wants. I was also there long enough to know that people like you are often directly from the SNS party to discredit anybody who speaks against the party of old nationalist radicals or even sadder, you are an underpaid government employee who is scared to lose their job unless they stand up for him. I'm not ignorant to Serbian politics or I would not even waste my time to read the news here. 3 years I lived in Serbia and I never heard a Serb say anything good about Vuchic. Also, why did my wife receive a ballot at her mother's home with her old last name on it?

Did anyone expect Vuchic not to win? When does a dictator ever lose elections when he calls for it?
