This should not have been an issue. The EU should not have let Croatia join until there had been extensive facing up to the wickednesses from which Croatia was born.

The evils of nationalism have been a problem in both Serbia and Croatia. I think however that Serbia has done more in its recent past to come to terms with what was wrong in the recent Balkan wars than Croatia managed to do in the entire period since WW2.

That said, extremist nationalism in both countries will continue to be a problem indefinitely. We know that in Serbia it was stomped on by NATO - with generally good effect. However, Croatia was encouraged to utilise its nationalism in expelling Serbs from Krajina as a way of stopping the recent wars. Good in that it helped stop the fighting I suppose, but with the wrong moral imperative at work in Croatia.

This is the problem that Croats is they are trying to revise history, but it’s making them look so stupid that even their university academics are embarrassed. Only ten days ago a Zagreb University professor stated on HRTV that Croats first used Cyrillic and that it should be retained. This academic was a Croat not an ethic Serb.
The only people that joined the partisans at the start were ethnic Serbs, but as the war went on and the Germans were looking like losing then they had an influx of Croats. Even a man called Frano Tudgman joined Tito, but after he did a superb job in Bleiberg the Communists altered Franjo’s allegiance history.
On the issue of Dalmatia, the Italians were so appalled at the Croats behaviour towards the Serbs that they would give Chetniks military information and the Serbs would wipe out the Croats.
Let’s make it clear that Dalmatians are not Croats and they were disgusted at the Croats behaviour. Even today the Dalmatian organisations have little to do with the Croats in Sydney, Australia. Even at the height of the 1990s war they refused to have anything to do with them.

Perhaps a read of what actually happened in Srebrenica before we talk about remembrance days. Robert Baer was as senior CIA operative with 30 years-experience and he did work for the US so he was not on the Serb’s side so there has to be some truth in his statement on Srebrenica.

Partizan uprising in Croatia was in place of Serb in Lika. Even before partizans Serbs were uprising against Hitler's invasion and NDH. Croats joined partizans after 1943 and fall of fascist Italy thill then Croats were domobrani and ustase. Check your facts again!
