Serbian people don't want to hand Kosovo over. It's not just the church.

Amanaparts: In what way is Serbia a theocracy? You may as well say that Italy is a theocracy because the Pope lives in Rome and has millions of acolytes in that country. Allowing religious figures to express themselves on issues of the day does not make a country a theocracy. Britain has an established church and our bishops are part of the law making process, but the daily running of the country and taking of key decisions is the job of politicians as it is in Serbia. I am not sure that the issue of Kosovo plays a part in the daily lives of ordinary Serbs and I'm fairly certain that they don't hang on the every word of the Patriarch.

There is only one thing that keeps Serbia from recognizing Kosovo. Its the Orthodox Church. As long as Serbia remains a de-facto theocracy people will suffer. Time to emancipateas a society.

Very stupid way of thinking. Why do you think there is such a huge defence of Jerusalem? Why not just hand it over to the Muslims if handing over your holliest sites is so easy?

Peter the great: In what way were the other permanent security council members in a position to use a veto with regard to Crimea? We were talking about resolutions and other business that comes before the UN. The referendum was held without reference to the UN and so no such veto could be applied. If you mean that the world powers could do nothing to stop this process then you are correct, but it has nothing to do with the issue of UNSC vetoes at all.

You can forget your EU dreams Dacic, because the Kosovar PM (Mustafa) already announced there will be no more talks between Kosova and Serbia. There is no point for Kosova to keep talking and there is no chance Serbia can join with such an unresolved Kosova issue.

Just wait for Albania to join the EU in a few years and then maybe the Serbian people emancipate and decide to kick you and the rest of your Milloshevic fan-club in the rubbish bin where you belong.

There are other reasons besides Belgrade to resist independence for Kosovo. The Albanians of Kosovo are unfit to govern the region. The other problem with the region is Albania itself and "independence" for Kosovo under the Albanian inhabitants is nothing more that a pathway to expanding Albanian territory. All the problems of Albania are spreading along with an expanding Albanian population. You don't want Albanians governing Kosovo any more than you want Albanians governing Germany.

There is nothing naturally wrong with Albanians. It is nothing that education, social improvement and a firm grip on reality will not heal.

Russia has a permanent veto in the Security Council. Countries joining the UN is a General Assembly matter.
(Danilo, 4 January 2016 18:44)

Yes, Russia does have a permanent veto, however it will amount to nothing "Ziltch" once a referendum on unification is organized by The Republic Of Kosova and UN member State Republic of Albania!!!
The US, UK, France, and China also have permanent veto power in the security council, and their veto was useless when Crimea was annexed by Russia in the supposed referendum they organized with the inhabitants of Crimea, and Crimea wasn't even recognized as a state? At least The Republic Of Kosova has '111" international recognitions which more then justifies a referendum on unification with the Republic of Albania!

Danilo: It is a decision for the General Assembly based upon a recommendation of the Security Council. It is this recommendation over which Russia has a veto. I would post a link but I'm not computer literate.

I am tired of Serbs repeating the same thing over and over again.
It is simple:
If you want to join EU you must allow Kosovo join UN.

"As long as Serbia remains a de-facto theocracy people will suffer. Time to emancipateas a society."
(Amanaparts, 4 January 2016 13:23)

And as long as Kosovo remains a de-facto mafia state ruled by former was criminals and corrupt kleptocrat clans while only opposition are nationalist extremists, people will suffer, like they did the last 15 years in Kosovo.

Time to emancipate a real democratic society with political parties which see it as their job to bring the state and citizens to a better life instead of abusing public money and providing clans and family member with well payed jobs in state or public enterprises

Amanaparts

Platitudes.

Kosovo War is well documentated. There are videos, pictures, witnesses, massgraves (in Serbia!!), convictions and admissions of guilt. Reports from national and international NGO`s, even in Serbia. The commited crimes have been recognised by UN, ICY and even by the Serb Government. The evidence is overwhelming.

Still claiming Kosovo is border-line ignorant. But I guess that wont change until people dont fall for the same 90`s propaganda anymore.

Well if that is going to be the case milosevich's newspaper boy "Dacic" then you have just opened the door wide open for a national referendum between both
UN member Republic of Albania &
The Republic of Kosova On unification, one which should have international observers monitoring the ballots!
Mr V. Putin We thank you From the bottom of our hearts in making this a possibility with your actions in Crimea!

All Serbia is doing is continuing the suffering of the Serb people in Kosovo. Serbia is the only country in the region that is hesitant to build strong relations with its neighbours. Dacic is comfortable in his apartment with his central heating turned right up, while Serbs in Kosovo freeze because of the childish policies of those in Beograd.

There is finally hope for Kosovo being no different then other Serb towns again, aside from the Serb history associated with it. The current thinkers are learning to fight propaganda, having the correct terminology for the occasion is a definite sign to the guest in Serbia who recently commented on 'Kosovo...UN' that even passive aggression can be translated.
One thing people forget is the Serbs had there own go at pass-aggress, and it lasted around 600 years and it liberated Serbs AND it happened right there in Kosovo.

The harder you fight against Kosovo, the worse serbia will be seen on international stage.

Here's why?
Kosovo is a poor country all around, corruption sky high, unemployment is ridiculous (Balkans in general). Even if Kosovo joined EU, UN, and any other organization nothing will change in Kosovo instantly. The world knows it, all serbia is doing is hurting its image on a lost battle.

Neither one of you are doing what really matters, and that is improving the lives of your citizens.
