According to Reuters, the presidency said Erdogan's remark was meant to "demonstrate that an executive presidency can exist in a unitary state and does not depend on a federal system of government, and that neither a presidential nor parliamentary system is a guarantee against abuse of power."

Exactly. Already without a presidential system, Erdogan is abusing the democracy and is in the way to consolidate his autocratic islamist regime by eliminating critical media and journalism and agitating against opposition parties. It can only get worse with him being president with more power.

In other news, Erdogan wanted to eliminate 'terrorists', i.e. all Kurds who are against his was of Islamism, with 100s of people already killed, including 'terrorist' kids and babies.

I think the EU should immediately stop to cooperate with such a regime.

P.S: I think Erdogan admires Hitler's system with one big leader, just like his brother in mind Putin.

The Turkish president's statement is unfortunate, but probably true in his mind! After all, the Turkish government handled the Gezi Park protests with such finesse and grace in 2013...

2013: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan dismissed the protesters as "a few looters" on 2 June.[5] Police suppressed the protests with tear gas and water cannons. In addition to the 11 deaths and over 8,000 injuries, more than 3,000 arrests were made. Excessive use of force by police and the overall absence of government dialogue with the protesters was criticized by some foreign countries and international organisations

If Hitler’s system was so effective then why his skull is in the Russian FSB archives today? Does Erdogan know that Messerschmitt, BMW, Krupp and the rest were selling arms to the Nazi and thus they earned money even when the regime was exhausted while the Russians worked in the rear regions for 15-16 hours just for food ? Seems that Russia don’t have to discredit the Turks today. We should only inform the planet about everything that their out of mind leaders say or do.
