Most EU countries ban the cultivation of GMO. Trade however is possible. But when the so called free trade agreement TTIP is signed then biotech companies and big AG businesses can take governments to a private commercial arbitrage court (in secret) that has the power to overrule national legislation or demand damages on part of the plaintiff. That is why TTIP must be stopped. If you are from an EU country you can sign the petition here: stop-ttip.org
3+ million people already did so and the petition has been submitted to the EC (which is pretty much in the pockets of big businesses and lobbyists. Information on that can be found here: corporateeurope.org

Don't fall in the GMO trap. Their safety is not proven despite what biotech companies and supporters say. Science is not at all over on this. Their associated herbicides such as Glyphosate has been classified by the WHO as probably carcinogenic and has be proven to be toxic at even low doses. It is also a endocrine disruptor ('gender bender') and has shown up in human urine and breast milk. Want some? Think not.

Please, please hold your ground and don't accept genetically modified foods! Once done, and the crops are in your country, IT CANNOT BE UNDONE. Please err on the side of extreme caution and DON'T DO IT.
