this is precisely I was told in (South) Kosovo a million times and a few times during my short visit to Albania. Turkey is being respected only by American-friendly Albanians and only when they celebrate Thanksgiving (i.e. today). :-P

In that spirit - today - all my love is towards Turkey. The rumors are, the turkey does not survive it's heart being removed. So very likely it was not pardoned. The Russians removed the heart of it and selling it for 2.23 Euro / kg in a Russian grocery store next to the French border. It tastes pretty good. We, too, celebrate Thanksgiving.

To other comments here.

1) AFAIK, Kurds are Iranians, but not Parthians. The word "Parthian" gave the name to today's Iran ("Persia"). Kurds were a key element in the numerous empires before the Parthians became the rulers.

They (Parthians) fought Rome, had contact to Chinese and left countless traces. So did Kurds. They have pretty much nothing to do with the Horde.

2) The only time Horde (or better: a Ghenghisid) had to do anything with Ottoman Empire was when Timur Lenk had conflict with Bayazid. Serbs stood behind Bayazid not only because of their vassalic obligation - but also because Timur was presumed (much) more dangerous than Bayazid. And he was.
