Yes, and that shows that you are out of touch with reality Leonidas, doesn't it? Not in tune with the majority of your own people. Getting surprised by events a little bit more every time, when Greeks just don't understand your ideas and go vote for Tsipras again? We already know that you are out of touch with a lot of things, I am just trying to make you understand that, recognizing that there is a problem is often the first step to full recovery :).
(Reader,

Reader, being an Albanian you have the right to join the queue of bullshit artists who are trying, without success to deflect what I am posting on this article and on this site in general. Alternatively, you could try and engage by posting your thoughts and your credibility might be enhanced.Until that time comes stick to your colouring books.

Merkel is really stupid about this issue. Who will start a war and with whom? And they are going to start a war because Germany won't open their border with Austria? It makes no sense whatsoever. Typical German uneducated view of the Balkans.

Also, got to love the constant Serb vs. Albanian crap that is so common here. Uhh, you realize that most Europeans see Serbs and Albanians as basically the same "Balkan criminals".

Leonidas

What is alarming is how the Greek electorate managed to vote Tsipras into power again especially after he put Greece in a worse situation then it was before. What is more alarming is that he formed a coalition with a far right wing party.

Greece now may be susceptible to blackmail from the EU on the recognition of FYROM and also the rogue state of Kosovo. Unfortunately, Milosevic and other Serbian politicians recognized FYROM which is another artificial republic created by Tito and later supported by Western Europeans.
(Jugoslavija,

I think Tsipra's re-election was due mainly to two reasons.Firstly, the low voting turnout(43% didn't bother to vote)and secondly the ones who voted had no real alternative(either Tsipras or the corrupt alliance of social democrats and conservatives).I think Tsipras went into an alliance with kammenos(Defense Minister) in order to secure his back from the security services(army, police etc).

I agree with you that Greece will be susceptible to blackmail on several national issues but then again I think the prospect of Greek default will re-surface again very soon for the simple reason that Greek debt as many other debts are simply unpayable. With the above holding true I don't think the EU will be stupid enough to push Greece to the edge.

1. ! There are a lot of Greeks which work in Albania, as much as Italians one. This is a fact!

2. ! We didn't have a statue of an eagle in the center of Tirana. We have another statue in the center, mr. Pinocchio - how you missed it?

3. ! You have been in Berat - all you have seen was just the bridge???
So is clear to me!

He is a brilliant man who tried to break this shitty cycle with Tsipras has dropped all pretences now and he tries to remodel himself on social democracy. He has given to demands of the troika that even the previous kleptocratic governments wouldn't dare. With regards to US and UK the Ponzi scheme will explode sooner than later.

Varoufakis had a good plan to go back to the Drachma and set up a viable program in order to manage the fall out. Tsipras betrayed Varoufakis to the European bankers who did not like him because the truth stings. Greek debt is not sustainable, but neither are many other countries including the US and UK. Russia on the other hand has very little debt putting it in a very strong liquid position visa vis Europe.

1. Greeks and Albanians share the same DNA [yeah surprise surprise lol]

Greeks share only borders with Albanians.Nothing else. The latest DNA carried by British researchers testify to that.

3. you poor greeks are now going to albania, from and turkey for jobs. Yeah say what you want you and I and 10 million Neohellenes know this is the fact.
LOL
Well the Greeks might be down but they are not out yet.It was reported two weeks ago-to my surprise- that Greece was the biggest investor in Albania with total investments amounting to 1.3 billion euros.I say to my surprise because with such an investment we could've bought the whole country up minus the Albanians of course.

Creepy that you know my origins, not sure I ever shared it. But yes, some of the biggest Serbs in history come from Montenegro. It was only until the arrival of communism and later Milo Djukanovic that Montenegro tried to de-Serbianize. Oh well, Milo's last days are upon us. Gotov Je :)

Tirana stayed at the Monarc hotel George W Bush Street , Durres, Villa Verdi Beach hotel Vlora hotel New York and Berat.
The centre of Tirana was maintained and clean, it has several new buildings but you can see when the building boom collapsed with half-finished structures. The further you get away from the centre the dirtier it gets and towards the edge of the city there is no sewerage. In the centre you have a statue of an eagle several statues of people that I have never heard of.
The others were all seaside resorts with the exception of Berat which we only spent one day and it was very run down too. Nice River though. I’d avoid using the old stone bridge as its also in need of urgent repair.

All the jobs in Turkey are in tourist resorts which are mostly financed by Russian money so its nothing unusual to find Serbs or Greeks etc working there. Its not Turks who employ them.

Ayatollah Irenej called for war today. Let that sink in. The head of the Serbian church called for war. The Serb church; a church called for war. The leader of a church; a priest called for war. A person whose only job is to preach peace and love, and inclusion, called for war. If such a person calls for war, what is the average person in Serbia calling for? What is the average Joe in Serbia, who doesn't have the heavy task to respond to God, calling for. Merkel is totally right, and if a war starts, Serbia will start it again. Look at the nutjobs leading your most "holy" institutions, what then can be expected from the rest of these bat$h!t crazies?

Don't bother, Albanians have trouble counting like "Count of Kosovo" and forget about Albanian Idiot (AI) aka ICJ1 who does not know where his ass is from his head. AI thinks that the US debt is sustainable and argues the point even though its mathematically impossible.

Remember that the only country to treat the migrants humanely in the region is Serbia! While others are treating them like animals, Serbia shows its humanist face once again. And not the first time this year. When 100, 000 Albanians left Kosovo-Metohija this past year, they needed to travel through the rest of Serbia to get to the EU. And not once were they harassed by local Serbs despite all the problems that exist between Serbs and Albanians.

Makes me proud to be of Serb heritage when Albanians, Syrians and all other persecuted peoples can go through Serbia feeling safe on route to their intended destination. But these people can't stay in Serbia, Germany needs to take all of them. Every last one. Eastern Europe should stand shoulder to shoulder with this demand.

Frau Merkel made her statement expecting widespread support at home and possibly abroad but then realised too late that this wasn't going to happen. She immediately started talking about sharing out the refugees, quotas etc but of course by this time many thousands were already en route expecting to end up in Germany. Now we have the double whammy of thousands of refugees being in a country along the route where they do not want to stay and where they are not welcome (Hungary) or the systems in that country simply cannot cope (Slovenia, Croatia). Thanks Angela.

You should be more concerned for the monies the EU has thrown into Albania and Kosovo toilets than Greece.I'm sick of Turko-Albanians griping about having to fund bailout packages for Greece. For a start, the EU taxpayers haven't as yet not paid a single euro. The funds are guarantees (money created out of thin air), intended to reassure private investors that Eeurozone states will not default.Even if push came to shove they'd be loans, not gifts outright- as in the case of Kosovo. As to being ungrateful to EU the truth of the matter is that all the EU has given me to date (personally)is sweet FA.

Andy UK,

You're absolutely right. Merkel is trying to cover her behind. Her stupid proclamation that Germany will accept 850k immigrants has come home to bite her, probably sooner that she might have expected. Countries simply cannot cope with such huge numbers of new citizens, all instantly needing housing, education, health services, jobs. Now that the novelty of being nice to immigrants has worn off, people start to become resentful. And worse. When the refugees stop being grateful and start demanding their 'rights'. This is the usual pattern in countries with large intakes of refugees and migrants. It all has become horrible and messy and uncomfortable. Merkel has realised her stupidity in opening the floodgates- not only has she managed to swamp her Southern towns with migrants but she also has alienated a large part of the populations of the Eastern European countries who rightly do not want thousands of migrants to support. However, Merkel is still determined to make a final restitution for the evils of National Socialism by imposing national transformation on its reluctant EU partners by diktat. It's time for EU countries to abolish Shenghen and restore national borders.

I really wouldn't trust Angela Merkel as far as I could throw her, and that wouldn't be very far as she isn't a thin lady...

What I worry about is Germany's true intentions, anyone familure with world war 2 and the Yugoslavs wars in in the 1990s would know that Germany does not particularly like the Serbian people. There is many reason for this, but I will not go not detail as I have only 1500 words...

I am worried because Germany could cause a war in the Balkans just as they did in the 1990s, if your not familure with the German role in the Yugoslav wars of the 1990s and how they created and perpetuated the crisis, then I suggest you watch "WEIGHT OF CHAINS" on YouTube and become educated about the yugoslave wars and what really happened and who started it...

So, back to Angela Merkel, she is under a lot of pressure to control the influx of refugees, her policy is open borders throughout Europe as it benefits the German economy, she is all for a United europe... But my friends, but she must control the migrants and maybe the best way to do that is to threaten war in the Balkans, maybe create a war, because one thing is for sure is that people coming from a war zone do not want to be stuck in a war zone somewhere else, such as in the Balkans... So this is why I don't trust Merkel, I don't trust Germany, I know what they are like and I know what they are capable of... She has mentioned war, now we must tread carefully...

What a load of rubbish. She is trying to deflect the fact that under her leadership, Germany have made a huge mistake in encouraging huge amounts of refugees / migrants / chancers / terrorists to make the trek to Europe to get to Germany.

The mostly likely situation in the Balkans is that all the countries build walls and the problem ends for all of them. Once all countries have a wall, then it becomes far easier to stop the flow and deal with the residual numbers still in transit.

Greece and Italy are going to be the countries that have the real problems if walls go up.

Leonidas

Perhaps now you understand how other EU citizens feel about Greece. We are sick and tired of throwing money down the proverbial toilet bowl. The Greeks are worse than the refugees from Syria as they created their own problems. And, you Leonidas, are the the most ungrateful of all beggars.
