So world will see that 'Serbs are decent' because foreign guests are protected by maximum security. I think is kind of sad how these people are escorted in german luxury cars while half of the people in Bosnia and Serbia don't even own a car.

I understand what you're trying to say but there is such a thing as pride in one's country and we are in the 21st century after all. What do you suggest these politicians do? Rent a bomb for a day or have a horse and cart to welcome other leaders in? Would you like your country represented in such a way?

It'll be a lot safer for him that it was for Vucic.

True on many counts,
1. To my knowledge they have not made public statements in the recent nor far history to inflame the citizens of Serbia.
2. Their visit is not a controversial visit.
3. Vucic is providing a more than adequate security staff, Dodik provided nothing during his visit to the RS.
4. The three will be accompanied by Serbian head of government, Dodik did not even show up at the ceremony and was critical of its holding and its attendees.
5. There were many dignitaries that attended the ceremony at Srebrenica and none were attacked having the same security provided to Vucic.

Most Serbs are decent. I've meet both Serbs and Croats during my lifetime, and from my own personal experience Serbs were far more respectful.

Again it's a question of the individual. It's not to say that there are no decent Croats. I'm sure there are.

Was not comparing Belgrade to Bagdad, you missed the point, that this is a publicity stunt. Just like with McCain. It proves nothing of the safety of these people nor anyone to walk down the street. They have already said there would be 1000 police officers protecting them, so you cannot say that IT is proof of anything. So basically what it is saying that it is a safe place as long as you have a security detail of 1000. Right?
I pointed that out, I did not say that Belgrade or Serbia was unsafe. Of course a few visitors may differ with your claim wasn't so safe for the football fan visiting Belgrade was it?
It is an orchestrated show for the world.
Of course you knew my meaning, but it is in your interest to play it otherwise.

They have already said 1000 police officers will be providing their security. Does that make it sound like a safe place to you??????

You know what's going to happen? Absolutely nothing. They're going to go through their choreographed walkabout and everybody is going to be fine because the designated streets will be blocked off. The worst Alija Jr. may get is an irate pensioner yelling in the general direction of the politicians that the blocked off street made him miss his bus back to Dorcol.

Serbs really don't care about this crap the way the diaspora on the Internet like to think they do.

A New Day,

Comparing the streets of Belgrade to "The Hurt Locker" is a bit far fetched.

Belgrade is very safe.

I doubt anyone will even note or care except some far right types (who should be sent to Sunday School and taught how to have respect toward others that they disagree with).

And you buy this propaganda piece as evidence of anything? Remember when John McCain walked down the streets of Bagdad and showed the world that it was safe??? They did not show the sharp shooters on every roof top the dozens of military and security personnel on the streets and the Helicopters flying over head.

They should meet the Women in Black. Take them to a cafe in Republic Square. (Bob, 21 July 2015 16:08)

What's your point? To see these people lynched by Serbian mobsters?

factman

Smart idea (who's ever it was).

Maybe the world will see that Serbs are decent.

They should stop someplace and have a brandy or two, and be around the everyday folk. Talk it out for a few hours and get simpatico.

I doubt anyone will even note or care except some far right types (who should be sent to Sunday School and taught how to have respect toward others that they disagree with).

It's turned into a bizarre contest to see who can be the best behaved host nation when it comes to controversial state visits.

1-0 to Serbia after Vucic got stoned in Srebrenica, but Izetbegovic is looking to hit back by taking a casual walk through Belgrade. He's going to be massively annoyed if Dveri don't come and try and chuck bricks at him or Obraz don't do any flag burning.

I assume that super-nutter Seselj will be bound and gagged in broom cupboard somewhere when the stroll round Belgrade takes place.
