Having Russia stop a resolution of this kind does no good for Serbia - it just associates Serbia with the current Russian bullying in Ukraine. While rabid nationalists may like that, it is not what the politicians see as serving best economic interest of the population.

The massacre in Srebrenica has done no good for the good name of Serbia. I am surprised if any current Serbian politician seeks to justify or deny it - either verbally or in their hearts.

I would have thought that the best move would to dissociate themselves and Serbia from those who committed the crimes as far as possible. That requires continuous active condemnation. To keep trying to pretend that what happened was ok is not justified - and not a good political move.
